Holiday Terroir Taste-Off: Fondue & Fondue Wines

Say what? Yes, it’s time to challenge those nippy nights with some fabulous fondue made by Fondue Cowboy, and find out which wines are the best pairing with this lip-smacking, belly warming treat. Let’s just say it’s a different kind of smack down. It’s USA against France!

First up: local bubbly versus Champagne. Other favored players in the line-up include: local Chasselas (a classic fondue contender), the infamous Vin Jaune, venerable Armagnac versus local Port, and more regional strikers! Who will lead? Come solo, with a friend, love, or both. It’s guaranteed to be a good game.

Special guest: Local wine maker Bill Wertzberger pouring & talking about his local Chasselas, the original Swiss fondue wine grape.

Fondue catered by Fondue Cowboy.  Serving up:
1) "The Traditional" fondue made from Gruyere (paired with Chasselas),
2) "The Stage Coach" fondue made from Comte (paired with Vin Jaune),
3) "The Outlaw" cheddar & jalapeno fondue (paired with Syrah),
4) ending with Chocolate fondue (paired with Armagnac & local Port)
